Now Be Here: Stephanie Allespach #56

Feeling inspired after attending the historic event Now Be Here at Hauser Wirth & Schimmel. My goal is to feature every artist that attended, one artist a day. Considering the number of artists that showed up, this will take me two years to complete. I am looking forward to getting to know the work of each and every artist!

From Allespach.net:

Stephanie Allespach is a German-American artist who lives and works in Los Angeles and Berlin. Her transdisciplinary practice is often lens based, where documentary-like observation highlight the poetry of chance. Her projects often explore socio-political concepts reflected within the the imaginary and the real. In particular her work examines everyday theatricality as expressed within environments as object, mark and performed body.

Allespach has exhibited nationally and internationally, as well as screened and performed at various institutions such as: The Getty Center, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Southwest Museum, Torrence Museum of Art, The Fowler Museum, American Cinematheque and Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions.
